Resident Life

No one should stop doing the things they love when they move to St. Luke Lutheran Community.
In the Resident Life Department, we help residents continue doing and learning hobbies that enhance their sense of wellbeing and overall health through organized or individual leisure pursuits. Our goal is to help individuals improve or maintain basic motor functioning and reasoning abilities, and socialize effectively to enable greater independence as well as to reduce or eliminate the effects of illness or disability. A Resident Life Aide works with each individual to identify what group activities would be of interest and how they can support independent leisure choices.
Connection is a huge part of our lives and that is what we seek to do through a wide variety of opportunities. Residents connect with staff and each other while enjoying group and individual activities 7 day a week like:
• Community Outings
• Family and intergenerational events (i.e. Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Trick-or-Treat, and Christmas parties)
• Walking paths
• Gardens
• Picnics
• A variety of church services
• Sensory stimulations
• Individualized one-to-one programming
• Montessori-based dementia programming
• Senior Vacation Bible School (North Canton campus)
• Sunday morning sailboat rides on South Turkeyfoot Lake (Portage Lakes campus)
The kids are back in school. What will you learn today? Click on the school house to learn what fun is to be had by St. Luke Lutheran Community residents this month.
